This standard covers the technical requirements of tapping screws for plastic materials made of steel with case hardened and tempered, not including alloy and not-alloy steel with special resistance to corrosion and heat.
The main purpose is to ensure that the screws properly form the threads in plastic materials in which are screwed, without distortion and without breaking during assembly or service.
Tapping screws for plastic materials must be made with thread and ends according to UNI 10225.
